Twitter is down today which is not the most uncommon thing in the world of tech. We all have seen the fail whale from time to time. And I am no addict to twitter that I would get worked up if I don't get to tweet for a little while. I understand  that companies of such a scale do run into issues, and it's not the end of the world. But my problem with twitter being down today was this page that that had all these languages that I could use twitter in. This was the first time I saw this so I searched for Punjabi( which I didn't find), but I did find Hindi! I clicked on the link and got the translated(or localized page) and cringed while reading the translation in Hindi. Thankfully there were no spelling mistakes, but it was a word to word translation from English to Hindi, which just doesn't make sense. It takes away the beauty of the language, and no native speaker would talk like that! The basic principle of localization and internationalization testing is to convert the user experience in the native tongue the way native speakers would talk and read the text in their language. It doesn't help me if I have translate this Hindi text back to English to really understand what they are trying to say without laughing out loud! Come on Twitter you can do better than that!

P.S If you can't read hindi script here is what it said- " Koi takneeki kharabi hai. Dekhne ke lie dhanywaad, hum ise theek karne ke lie aur cheezein wapas samanya karne ke lie jald hi ja rahe hai."
